To hind high grade Philadelphia Mint coinage is near impossible. The denomination was created as a means of exhausting an overage in gold supply due to the 1849 California Gold Rush. They were never intended for general use in commerce as the amount easily equated to a month's wage during the time of issue - making them impractical to carry as a coin. Conservatively graded years ago by PCGS MS63.
Conservatively graded in our opinion, PQ++. Mintage of 482,000, far less survive today.
A MS65 is a pure value play, with plenty of future upside potential. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Obverse: Depicts Liberty striding forward holding a torch and an olive branch with the U. Capitol building in the backdrop.
Reverse: Features an eagle in flight against the sun in the background. Beautiful color and very rare in this condition. The item "1910-P $20 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle Pre-33 PCGS MS63 Fresh Old Holder" is in sale since Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
