The Gold Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle gets its name from its designer, Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The reverse bears an image of America&###x2019;s national bird, the eagle, soaring high in the sky against the backdrop of the sun&###x2019;s rays. On the obverse, Liberty stands facing the holder. In her hands are an olive branch, symbolizing peace, and her torch, symbolizing freedom. A small rendering of the Capitol Building is included in the lower left.
