1908-D $20 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle With Motto NGC MS62 Amazing Coin PQ++
Less than 500,000 coins were minted. Only 349,500 were minted, many were melted down and never circulated. To find high grade No Motto Denver Mint coinage is nearly impossible. The denomination was created as a means of exhausting an overage in gold supply due to the 1849 California Gold Rush. They were never intended for general use in commerce as the amount easily equated to a month's wage during the time of issue - making them impractical to carry as a coin. NGC encapsulation offers protection and guarantees the beautiful MS-62 condition of the coin. Certified in an older NGC holder. Conservatively graded in our opinion, PQ++.
With Motto In Gold we Trust and Struck at the Denver Mint. Obverse: Depicts Liberty striding forward holding a torch and an olive branch with the U.
Capitol building in the backdrop. Reverse: Features an eagle in flight against the sun in the background. Beautiful color and very rare in this condition. The item "1908-D $20 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle With Motto NGC MS62 Amazing Coin PQ++" is in sale since Thursday, May 28, 2020.
